    "My child seems happier"

    In the last 12 months, CrossReach's Daisy Chain Early Years project in Govanhill, Glasgow, worked with over 240 children and 225 parents. As a result of your support and their expertise, together we have achieved the following;

    • 91% of parents agreed that ‘I feel like I am more able to spend time with my child when at Daisy Chain’
    • 86% of parents said that ‘I have made friends with other parents at Daisy Chain’
    • 96% of parents saw that ‘my child seems happier’
    • 82% of parents indicated that ‘my child seems more confident to explore the play area at Daisy Chain’.

Thanks to everyone who has donated and prayed for Daisy Chain over this last year. You can celebrate with us the remarkable accomplishments parents are recognising they have achieved.
There is still much more to be done so please keep giving and keep praying.
To find out about how you can donate or to receive a Prayer Diary, please contact Supporter Development on 0131 454 4374 or email us at supporters@crossreach.org.uk

    Christmas Card Competition

With the recent snow and chilly weather many of us have experienced, you might be forgiven for thinking its Christmas time again!
If the snow has put you in the mood for Christmas, then maybe use it as inspiration for your entry to the Christmas Card Competition!
We’re extending the date for entries to 9th April 2018,so there’s still time to submit your entry.

    Stamptacular Success!

Thank you for all the stamps and other collectables you have been sending in to CrossReach!
The response so far has been amazing!
You've already sent us envelopes, bags and boxes of loose stamps, stamp albums, first day cover collections, war medals, old coins, postcard collections and cigarette card collections.
As a result, we’ve been able to turn your stamps and other collectables in to about 1,000 hours of care in the CrossReach Children and Family services.
This means services such as the Perinatal Mental Health Services, Sunflower Garden, the Polmont Bus Prison Visitors Centre and more have already benefited from your stamps and collectables.
Please, tell everyone you know that we welcome stamps, stamp collections and other collectables and, together, we'll see more children and families receive the loving care and support they need.

CrossReach Children & Family Services have introduced a new tool, CALAMARI SHANARRI, which was designed and created by CrossReach’s GIRFEC Development Advisor, Tanya Anderson.
Tanya says: “GIRFEC is important for everyone who works with children and young people, as well as many people who work with adults who look after children. CrossReach provide introductory training to all their services on the key issues addressed by GIRFEC and the wellbeing indicators.
Children enjoy interactive play, colour, creativity and fun. Art and music are used frequently in many CrossReach services, especially with children and young people. To start to encourage our clients and staff to learn more about GIRFEC and make it a common terminology in everyday activities, an interactive tool was needed.
The eight legs, and the name, CALAMARI, stand for the eight wellbeing indicators of GIRFEC. Anyone can make an octopus and CALAMARI can be used with groups of children, young people and adults and indeed all ages mixed together. The indicators are useful tools to help focus on individual strengths and weaknesses.”
